ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — An Atlantic City police officer has been arrested and charged with multiple counts related to domestic violence following an investigation by the department’s Criminal Investigations Section and Internal Affairs.

Warren Young, 29, of Brigantine, was taken into custody on December 18, 2024, after detectives uncovered allegations of repeated domestic violence incidents throughout the year involving his wife. Authorities say the charges stem from incidents in which Young allegedly pointed a firearm, possessed scissors during an argument, and physically assaulted the victim.

Young, who joined the department in April 2019, has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, harassment, and simple assault. He has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the case.

The department emphasized its commitment to holding its officers accountable, stating that the investigation was conducted in accordance with its standards for integrity and public trust.

The case remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
