Baltimore man wins $50,400 on Bonus Match 5 with lucky birthday numbers

BALTIMORE, Md. — A Baltimore City man is celebrating a $50,400 Maryland Lottery win after his birthday-number picks paid off on a Bonus Match 5 ticket he purchased in May.

The longtime Lottery enthusiast claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters on July 31. He bought his nine-gameboard, one-draw ticket for $6 at Belvedere Plaza Liquors, located at 5658 The Alameda in Baltimore.

Three of the ticket’s combinations were quick picks, but they didn’t hit. Instead, it was one of his birthday-number entries that matched all five numbers drawn, securing the $50,000 top prize. Another birthday-number line matched four of five numbers, adding an extra $400 to his total win.

The semi-retired state employee shared the news with his wife right after discovering his win.
