Bay Shore convenience store sells winning lottery ticket

Lucky numbers land one Long Island player a five-figure payday in Sunday night’s drawing

BAY SHORE, N.Y. — A routine stop at a Long Island convenience store turned into a $28,704.50 windfall after a top-prize winning TAKE 5 ticket was sold in Bay Shore for Sunday night’s New York Lottery drawing.

The New York Lottery announced Monday that one top-prize ticket matched all five numbers drawn in the June 22 TAKE 5 Evening drawing.

The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 2320 Union Blvd. in Bay Shore. The ticket is worth $28,704.50.

Lottery officials did not release information about the ticket holder, and New York allows certain lottery winners to remain anonymous.

TAKE 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39. The game holds drawings twice daily, with televised drawings at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

The New York Lottery said it remains the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, contributing $3.6 billion during fiscal year 2024-2025 to support public schools across New York State.
