Bergen County Fugitive Captured in Ocean County After Alleged Fight With Officers

A Bergen County fugitive wanted on an outstanding sheriff’s warrant was arrested in Ocean County and is now facing additional charges, including violent resistance to arrest and throwing bodily fluids at correctional staff.

A man wanted by authorities in Bergen County was taken into custody in Ocean County on Sunday after allegedly resisting arrest, fleeing from officers, and engaging in a confrontation that led to several new criminal charges.

Albert III Pasqua Fischetta, 42, was booked into the Ocean County Jail on June 22, according to jail records.

Fischetta was already wanted on an active Bergen County Sheriff’s Office warrant before his arrest in Ocean County. Jail records show a detainer remains lodged against him by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.

Multiple Charges Filed

Following his arrest, Fischetta was charged with a series of offenses stemming from the incident.

The charges include resisting arrest by violence, resisting arrest by flight, obstruction of the administration of law, criminal mischief, and throwing bodily fluids at Department of Corrections employees.

According to the charging documents, the most serious offense filed was a third-degree charge of throwing bodily fluids at correctional employees.

Authorities have not yet released details describing the circumstances that led officers to encounter Fischetta or what prompted the alleged confrontation.

No-Bail Status

Jail records show Fischetta is being held in the Ocean County Jail under a no-bail status while the charges move through the court system.

He was committed to the jail on Sunday and remains housed at the facility.

The records list Fischetta as a New Jersey resident and indicate he was born in New Jersey.

Fugitive Warrant From Bergen County

In addition to the new charges, Fischetta faces action related to the outstanding Bergen County warrant that led authorities to seek his arrest.

A detainer entered by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office remains active, meaning he could be transferred to Bergen County authorities after the Ocean County case is resolved.

Officials have not publicly disclosed the underlying offense connected to the Bergen County warrant.

The investigation and prosecution are continuing.
