Three NJ Mega Millions players win big with $30K and $20K prizes after $980M jackpot hit in Georgia

TRENTON, NJ — While a Georgia player claimed the staggering $980 million Mega Millions jackpot Friday night, three New Jersey ticket holders quietly scored significant second-tier wins thanks to the game’s new multiplier feature.

The winning numbers for the November 15 drawing were 01, 08, 11, 12, 57 and the Gold Mega Ball 07. Though no Garden State player hit the jackpot, three New Jerseyans matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball — initially a $10,000 prize. Thanks to the free multiplier now included with all Mega Millions plays, their winnings increased dramatically.

Two players received a 2X multiplier, doubling their prizes to $20,000 each. A third ticket included a 3X multiplier, tripling the prize to $30,000.

According to New Jersey Lottery officials, the winning tickets were purchased at the following locations:

  • $20,000 – 7-Eleven #34249, 207 Rivervale Road, River Vale, Bergen County
  • $20,000 – To Go Mini Market, 536-556 Cedar Lane, Teaneck, Bergen County
  • $30,000 – Freshmart, 130 Woodbridge Avenue, Highland Park, Middlesex County

The Mega Millions jackpot, now reset to $50 million, was last hit by the Georgia winner who matched all five numbers and the Mega Ball to claim either the full annuity or a cash option of $452.2 million. That win marked the eighth-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.

With the game’s rule change in April, all Mega Millions tickets now include a randomly generated multiplier, automatically boosting non-jackpot prizes from 2X up to 5X at no extra cost — a feature that continues to benefit New Jersey players.
