Bergen County lottery player hits massive $1 million scratch-off jackpot

Bergen County player wins $1 million scratch-off prize as big wins hit across New Jersey

TRENTON, NJ – A New Jersey Lottery player in Bergen County is now a millionaire after hitting the top prize in the $1,000,000 Ultimate Spectacular Scratch-Off game, while additional major wins were reported this week in Monmouth, Warren, and Passaic counties.

The $30 winning ticket was purchased on August 29 at Anderson Mini Market, located at 95 Anderson Avenue in Fairview. The prize is one of nine $1 million top prizes available in the Ultimate Spectacular game — six of which still remain.

Earlier that same week, on August 25, a Monmouth County player won a $600,000 top prize from the $30 Crossword Xtreme game. That ticket was sold at 7-Eleven #11019, located at 50 Schank Road in Freehold. It was the first of three top prizes available in that game.

Warren County also saw a major win on August 25, when a player claimed the final $250,000 top prize from the $10 $250,000 Crossword game. The ticket was purchased at Oxford Spartan LLC, 149 Route 31 in Oxford. A new version of the game is now available with six fresh top prizes.

Then, just one day after its release, the new $20 Quarter Million Cash game delivered a $250,000 win in Passaic County. That ticket was sold at Home Wine & Liquors, 593 Main Avenue in Passaic. Eight of the nine top prizes in that game remain unclaimed, along with 48 secondary prizes worth $5,000.

These wins are part of a larger trend of major payouts by the New Jersey Lottery, which has contributed nearly $33.7 billion to the state since its inception in 1970. Under a 30-year agreement signed into law in 2017, lottery profits help support the public employee pension system.
