The advisory was issued by the Berkeley Township Office of Emergency Management and shared by the Berkeley Township Police Department, which cautioned that the extreme temperatures could pose risks to both public health and utility infrastructure.

“Berkeley Township can expect extreme hot weather during the period of July 1st – 5th. Maximum daily heat may reach between 100 and 110 degrees,” the Office of Emergency Management said in its public message.

Officials warned that prolonged exposure to extreme heat can be dangerous, particularly for older adults, young children, people with chronic medical conditions, and anyone spending extended periods outdoors.

Emergency alerts available through Nixle

Residents are encouraged to monitor the Berkeley Township Police Department and township Facebook pages for updated weather information and emergency announcements throughout the heat wave.
