NYPD Hoping Blurry Photos Can Lead to Brooklyn Shooting Suspects

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying three suspects after an attempted shooting in Brooklyn, though the surveillance images released offer only limited detail.

Brooklyn, NY – The New York City Police Department has released surveillance photos of three individuals wanted in connection with an attempted shooting in Brooklyn, but the grainy images provide little detail as investigators continue searching for the suspects.

According to the NYPD Crime Stoppers, the incident occurred at approximately 12:01 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Third Avenue and 51st Street within the confines of the 72nd Precinct.

Police said one unidentified individual, acting in concert with two other unidentified people, discharged a firearm in the direction of a 33-year-old man before the group fled the area in an unknown direction.

The victim was not identified, and police did not immediately release information about whether he was struck or injured in the shooting.

Detectives asking for public’s help

Investigators are asking anyone who recognizes the individuals in the surveillance images or has information about the incident to come forward.

“Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782),” the department said in its public alert.
