Body found in Musconetcong River in Holland Township

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A body was discovered in the Musconetcong River in Holland Township on Sunday, October 27, prompting an investigation by local authorities. The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office and the Holland Township Police Department announced the discovery, which was reported around 5:15 p.m. by a fisherman in a shallow section of the river.

According to officials, members of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office and the Holland Township Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene to assist in the recovery. Initial findings suggest that the individual had been deceased for several weeks before being found, though the identity and gender of the deceased have not yet been determined.

The circumstances surrounding the death are currently under investigation, and authorities have not released additional details. Further examination is expected to determine the cause of death and potentially identify the individual.

Investigators are working to piece together information, and officials ask that anyone with relevant details contact the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office or the Holland Township Police Department as they continue their inquiry into the case.
