BRONX, N.Y. – A Bronx man has been indicted for second-degree murder in the fatal beating of a 64-year-old ambulette driver, whose body was later discovered inside his work vehicle, prosecutors announced.
Sharief Bodden, 29, of Unionport Road, was arraigned on charges of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter before Bronx Supreme Court Justice George Villegas. He was remanded and is scheduled to return to court on May 16, Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark said.
Authorities said Peter Forrest, a driver for Marquis Ambulette, was attacked on the morning of January 13, 2025, after discovering damage to his work vehicle near Astor Avenue and Bronxwood Avenue in Morris Park. He called his supervisor about the damage but did not respond to follow-up calls. Hours later, his employer traced the ambulette’s GPS to Hart Street and Castle Hill Avenue in Castle Hill, where Forrest’s body was found.
Investigators determined Bodden was inside the vehicle when Forrest encountered it and then allegedly assaulted him, leading to his death. Clark described Forrest, who was also known as “P. Fluid,” as a respected musician who influenced many in the Bronx.
