ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – A Brooklyn man was arrested last week in Atlantic City on the boardwalk openly selling illegal marijuana.
On Sunday, at around 6:30 pm. Atlantic City Police Officer John Bell was patrolling the area of Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall when he observed a vehicle blocking the crosswalk in the 100 block of south Mississippi Avenue.
The suspect was advertising he had marijuana for sale.
“Officer Bell observed the vehicle had insignia written on the exterior openly advertising the sale of marijuana and marijuana products,” the ACPD said. “Contact was made with a male, Herbert Nelson, who claimed ownership of the vehicle.”
A search of the vehicle led police to discover 3.7 pounds of marijuana and marijuana-related products.
Nelson was taken into custody and charged with distributing marijuana within 500 feet of a public park and money laundering.
