Catonsville home becomes crime scene after shocking discovery
Catonsville, MD — A grim discovery unfolded Thursday afternoon inside a home on Wilton Farm Drive, where a woman and child were found dead and a man critically wounded, as investigators pursue what they are calling a double murder-suicide.
Just after 3:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 740 block of Wilton Farm Dr. following a check-on-subject call. When they entered the residence, they located an adult female with visible trauma and a child suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Both victims were declared dead at the scene.
Also found inside was an adult male suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He is believed to be the suspect in the case.
Baltimore County homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances but confirmed the incident is being handled as a double murder-suicide. The names of those involved have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting autopsies to determine the precise causes and manners of death.
There is no indication of forced entry or involvement of additional suspects, and authorities have not disclosed a possible motive. The relationship between the victims and the suspect has not been publicly confirmed, though police say the three individuals were known to one another and lived at the address.
