ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The ramp from South Van Dorn Street onto eastbound Duke Street has been temporarily closed following a chemical spill, the Alexandria Police Department announced Thursday morning.

Authorities have not disclosed details about the nature or source of the spill but confirmed that crews are on-site working to address the situation. The closure is expected to last approximately two hours, though officials noted that this estimate could change based on cleanup progress.

Drivers in the area are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid delays. Updates on the reopening of the ramp will be provided as more information becomes available.

No injuries or other impacts have been reported in connection to the incident.
