Vineland, NJ – A 4-year-old boy was seriously hurt Thursday when he was struck by a pickup truck while riding a small pedal toy vehicle inside a Vineland campground, police said.

Officers responded around 4:41 p.m. to the Malaga Campground on North Delsea Drive following reports of a child hit by a vehicle. Investigators determined that a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup, driven by 44-year-old Timothy Cooper of Vineland, was traveling north through the campground when it struck the child, who was in the roadway at a low speed.

The boy sustained significant injuries and was flown to Cooper Trauma Center for treatment, according to police. His current condition has not been released.

Authorities said no charges have been filed at this stage, and the crash remains under investigation by the Traffic Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Morales at cmorales@vinelandcity.org or submit an anonymous tip to VPD.TIPS, reference case #25-47426.
