Couple charged with beating children with curtain rod, extension cord

Lancaster, PA – A Pennsylvania couple faces multiple charges after allegedly abusing two children over several months. Gebron Reid, 31, and Malina Ounn, 29, have been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children and two counts of simple assault.

The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office reports the abuse occurred between July and December at their residence on East King Street. One child stated Reid and Ounn struck her numerous times with household items, including a curtain rod and extension cord.

In December, one victim said Ounn threatened her life, prompting the child to flee from the residence. A second victim reported being hit by both defendants using a wooden stick.

The specifics of the children’s relationship to Reid and Ounn remain unclear. Charges were filed against Reid in October after he allegedly threatened an assistant district attorney during a preliminary hearing. He has been charged with retaliation against a public official and making terroristic threats.

Ounn also faces charges related to making threats. Both defendants are currently free on bail and have a status conference scheduled for February 19.
