TOMS RIVER, NJ – The heart of downtown Toms River will glow this Friday as residents gather for the community’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting celebration.

The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 33 Washington Street, transforming the downtown area into a festive hub of light and music.

Toms River Mayor Dan Rodrick is inviting the entire community to help ring in the holiday season this coming Friday.

Hosted by Downtown Toms River, the evening will feature live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a much-anticipated visit from Santa himself.

Happening now in Toms River: Mayor Rodrick calls upon MUA to end free taxpayer provided health benefits for commissioners who work one hour per month or less.

Crowds are expected to fill the streets as the town’s central tree comes to life, marking the official start of the holiday season.

The event is made possible through sponsorship from local partners, including Celebrity Ford of Toms River, M&T Bank, Renewal by Andersen, Veolia, and Sunrun. Several civic and cultural organizations—such as the Ocean County Cultural & Heritage Commission, Discover Jersey Arts, and the Toms River Business Development & Tourism office—also play key roles in supporting the celebration.
