Eastern Shore Resident Strikes Lottery Luck Again

May 29, 2024

TALBOT Co., MD—A resident of Talbot County, Maryland, has claimed a $50,000 prize from the Maryland Lottery this week, marking her third substantial win from scratch-off games in recent years. Six years ago, she won $100,000, followed by a $10,000 win three years ago.

The lucky winner, a regular scratch-off player, purchased the “50 Years!” ticket as a celebratory splurge. “50 Years! is a $50 ticket, so it’s not one I play too often,” she explained. When she does invest in the pricier game, her luck seems to hold, evidenced by her latest win.

This week’s prize was revealed to be the sixth and final third-tier prize for the game, which still boasts a $5 million top prize, a $100,000 second-tier prize, and additional lower-tier prizes. “I went into the store with a $1,000 winner and two $500s to cash,” the winner shared, describing her decision to select the 50 Years! game in celebration of her recent wins.

Upon scratching the ticket at the One Stop convenience store on Queen Anne Highway in Queen Anne, she immediately knew it was a winner. However, her excitement was somewhat tempered by her friend’s subdued reaction, accustomed to her frequent wins.

With her latest earnings, the winner plans to purchase a new vehicle, continuing her streak of transforming lottery luck into tangible rewards.
