Elderly man killed after being struck by minivan in early morning Dundalk crash

Dundalk pedestrian dies after early morning crash with minivan

Dundalk, MD – A 66-year-old man was killed in the early hours of Monday morning after being struck by a minivan while crossing a major intersection in Dundalk, according to Baltimore County Police.

The fatal crash occurred around 1:10 a.m. near the intersection of North Point Boulevard and Trappe Road. Officers from Precinct 12 responded to reports of a pedestrian-involved crash and found the victim, later identified as Donald Knight, lying in the roadway with critical injuries.

Investigators say Knight was hit by a 2012 Honda Odyssey traveling southbound on North Point Boulevard. He was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, according to police.

The department’s Crash Team is leading the investigation to determine what led to the collision. Authorities have not released details on whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk or if speed or impairment were factors in the crash.

No charges have been filed at this time.
