MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A fire that broke out late Friday night at a residence on Hudson Parkway left the home uninhabitable, though no injuries were reported, authorities said.
Officers from the Manchester Township Police Department responded to 137A Hudson Parkway at approximately 9:23 p.m. after receiving reports of an active structure fire. Upon arrival, flames and smoke were visible from the rear exterior of the residence.
All adjoining homes were determined to be either unoccupied or evacuated prior to the arrival of emergency crews. Multiple fire companies, dispatched through a coordinated effort by the Manchester Township Communications Division and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division, worked together to extinguish the fire.
The home suffered significant fire and water damage and was deemed uninhabitable by the building inspector. Following a preliminary investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office, officials determined that the blaze was caused by a failure in energized electrical components in the master bedroom.
The Manchester Township Police Department expressed gratitude to the numerous fire departments and emergency services that assisted at the scene.
