SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. — Fourth of July celebrations at the Seaside Heights Boardwalk remained mostly peaceful Thursday, though local authorities responded to multiple disturbances involving juveniles, including fights and reports of rock throwing.
The day was pale in comparison to Memorial Day weekend when dozens of people were arrested and three people were stabbed during the holiday celebrations.
According to reports Seaside Heights police responded to several incidents throughout the evening, including an active fight at 44 Sheridan Avenue.
On the 100 block of Kearney Avenue, juveniles were reported throwing rocks.
Police also responded to a large disturbance near Hamilton Avenue and the boardwalk. Commenters noted the crowd had thinned after curfew.
The 10 p.m. curfew for unacompanied minors appears to be working as the late night violence seen over Memorial Day weekend was not to be seen.
A separate disturbance was reported at Sand and Surf, with limited details made available. In another unrelated call, authorities were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at Grant Avenue and the Boulevard.
Despite the scattered reports of juvenile-related disturbances, no major injuries or arrests were immediately announced by police.
