Glen Burnie man arrested after gunfire erupts at apartment complex

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A 45-year-old man was taken into custody after shots rang out early Sunday morning in a Glen Burnie apartment complex, leading officers to recover a handgun and shell casings scattered across the area.

Eastern District officers responded to the 300 block of Mountain Ridge Court around 2:20 a.m. on August 24 following reports of gunfire. While canvassing the area, officers heard additional shots and soon located multiple shell casings, including one found on a third-floor apartment balcony.

Detectives executed a search warrant at the apartment. During the operation, a man attempted to flee by jumping from the balcony but was quickly detained. He was identified as Shelton Brown of Glen Burnie.
