Gunfire erupts in Bronx as suspect opens fire and runs

Broad daylight shooting attempt shakes Bronx intersection

Bronx, NY — A daytime confrontation in the Bronx escalated into gunfire when a suspect pulled out a weapon and fired toward a man at a busy intersection, police said.

The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. Monday at Davidson Avenue and West 177th Street within the confines of the 46th Precinct. According to authorities, an unidentified individual displayed a firearm and discharged it in the direction of a 30-year-old male victim.

No injuries were reported in the incident, and the suspect fled the scene.

Police have not released a description of the individual as the investigation continues.
