Police are searching for a driver who allegedly fired three rounds into the ground during a road rage confrontation in Woodbridge, sending another motorist fleeing from the scene.
Police are investigating a road rage incident in Woodbridge after a driver allegedly fired three gunshots during a confrontation with another motorist Wednesday afternoon.
Officers responded to a residence in the 13800 block of Botts Avenue at approximately 1:10 p.m. on June 24 after receiving reports of shots fired.
According to investigators, the incident began when an individual entering a vehicle made a hand gesture toward the driver of a red four-door sedan.
Suspect allegedly fired into the ground
Police said the encounter escalated into a verbal altercation before the suspect allegedly fired three rounds into the ground as the other individual drove away.
No injuries or property damage were reported.
Investigators recovered shell casings from the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
Suspect remains at large
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with black hair and a beard.
He was last seen wearing a dark blue New York Yankees cap and a dark-colored shirt and was driving a red four-door sedan.
