Deputies say a man wearing only half his clothes was found asleep with a firearm and narcotics before his arrest on multiple charges.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A Washington, DC, man was arrested after deputies responding to a disturbance found him partially clothed, asleep, and allegedly carrying a firearm and narcotics, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened at approximately 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, on Abberly Drive.

Deputies were told the man was wearing only half of his clothes and did not live in the neighborhood.

When Sgt. Williams located the man, deputies found him asleep. After waking him, they observed signs of impairment, including a strong odor of alcohol and slurred speech.

During the investigation, deputies discovered a firearm and narcotics on the suspect. Investigators also determined he was a convicted felon.

The suspect was identified as Douglas Boomer, 30, of Washington, DC.

Boomer was charged with public intoxication, possession of a weapon by a felon, sexual display, and concealing a weapon while intoxicated.

He was booked into the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.

The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
