Point Pleasant Beach, NJ – The husband of Kaitlyn Tracey, the Canadian leftist woman charged with allegedly assaulting a juvenile during a confrontation with a young girl on the Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk, is publicly pleading for help after saying his wife was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In a video posted to social media following her arrest, Travis Williams described his struggle to communicate with her after she was transferred from the Ocean County Jail to an ICE detention facility.
“I need help. I don’t know what to do. My wife is being detained by ICE,” he said. “She’s in Ocean County Jail right now and I can’t get a hold of her.”
The couple were married in 2023.

He also claimed he was unable to add money to her inmate account because of problems with the jail’s payment kiosk.
“The kiosk in the [Ocean County] jail is broken and all the numbers and stuff they gave me wasn’t right or wouldn’t allow me to put money on her card,” he said. “ICE is coming there to pick her up. I need an immigration lawyer. I need help.”
Emotional plea after arrest
Throughout the video, Tracey’s husband repeatedly asks viewers for assistance, saying he cannot afford an attorney. Witnesses have also accused Williams of provoking the incident, but that has not been confirmed.
Williams, who goes by the handle @copsdrinkplastic40oz on TikTok, posted the video and routinely posts bizarre anti-Trump and anti-Republican videos, sometimes cheering on the illnesses of Trump and other high level Republicans, also posts bizarre conspiracy theories and political rants on his low-view social media profiles.
“I don’t have any money. I’m so… broke. But I’ll figure something out. I gotta save her. I love her. I need help,” he said.
He concluded by expressing concern about her safety.
“I don’t want her to get hurt. I don’t know what to do. I need my wife.”
Shore News Network has not independently verified the husband’s claims regarding communication issues at the jail. As of publication, ICE has not publicly commented on Tracey’s detention status.
Assault investigation stemmed from July 3 confrontation
According to the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department, officers responded on the evening of July 3 to investigate a reported assault involving an adult woman and a juvenile girl on the boardwalk.
Police said the confrontation began after the suspect yelled at the juvenile over patriotic-colored sweatpants displaying political wording. Investigators allege surveillance video shows Tracey striking the juvenile once in the body and once in the face with an open hand before leaving the area.
Reports indicate she was wearing Trump-themed clothing.
Following an investigation by Detective Korey McCormack and the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department Detective Bureau, Tracey was identified as the suspect and charged with simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child, harassment, and obstruction.
Authorities have not publicly released the surveillance video.
Shore News Network has reviewed video circulating online that appears to show the juvenile wearing patriotic-themed clothing before the confrontation. Claims circulating on social media that Tracey’s husband provoked the incident have not been confirmed by law enforcement, and police have not accused him of any crime.
Released from county jail and transferred to ICE
Tracey surrendered to police on Monday and was processed before being lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing under New Jersey’s Criminal Justice Reform Act.
She is no longer listed in the Ocean County Jail inmate database. Shore News Network has reached out to ICE seeking confirmation that she is in federal custody and will update this story if additional information is released.
The Point Pleasant Beach Police Department credited the Asbury Park Police Department, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the Toronto Police Service’s 11th Division, and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Intelligence Team for assisting with the investigation.
Husband launches fundraiser
An online GoFundMe campaign has been established to help pay for Tracey’s legal and immigration expenses.
The fundraiser, organized by Travis Williams, states that donations will be used to help cover legal representation and immigration-related costs.
“We, Kate’s friends, are organizing this fundraiser to help cover the legal and immigration expenses she now faces after being detained by ICE on July 13,” the fundraiser states. “As she navigates this difficult and uncertain process, we want to ensure she has access to experienced legal representation and the support she needs.”
Williams also wrote that, regardless of the criminal allegations, Tracey “deserves the right to due process” and said supporters intend to help her obtain legal representation.
