Illegal Alien Arrested for Multiple Charges of Child Sexual Assault in Toms River

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Nelson DeJesus Ramos-Diaz was taken into custody this week in Ocean County is being held without bail following a series of serious criminal charges related to child protection and sexual assault offenses, according to court and jail records.

Ramos-Diaz was booked into the Ocean County Jail on December 18 and faces multiple counts, including first-degree aggravated sexual assault involving a minor under the age of 13, second-degree sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. The suspect remains detained pending a Superior Court detention hearing.

Police have not yet released any details as to where the incident took place or who the victims were in relation to the suspect.

The charges carry potential first-degree penalties under New Jersey criminal law, which can include lengthy prison sentences if convicted.

Because of the seriousness of the allegations, the case falls under the jurisdiction of the county’s Special Victims Unit, which investigates crimes involving children and vulnerable individuals.
