IOWA CITY, IA – An Iowa man is facing criminal charges after authorities say he exposed himself to passing motorists on two consecutive days along separate interstates because he “needed some excitement” in his life.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Danan Ary has been charged with two counts of indecent exposure following incidents reported on Interstate 80 and Interstate 380 in mid-October.

Deputies said Ary admitted to the behavior after being confronted by investigators.

Two incidents reported on consecutive days

According to a criminal complaint, the first incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on October 14 along Interstate 80 near Oxford, where passing drivers reported seeing a man standing at the rear of his vehicle exposing his genitals.

The following afternoon, around 3:30 p.m. on October 15, similar reports came in from motorists on northbound Interstate 380 near North Liberty. Deputies later identified the suspect as Ary.

Suspect admits motive to deputies

Court records state Ary told investigators he committed the acts to “fulfill an excitement missing in his ‘blah’ life.” He was later taken into custody and booked into the Johnson County Jail.
