HAMILTON TWP., NJ – A 19-year-old man learned the hard way that crime doesn’t pay after police say he broke into a vehicle but couldn’t get out because the doors were jammed.
The bizarre burglary unfolded around 8:29 p.m. on November 20 in the parking lot of the Longhorn Steakhouse.
When the vehicle’s owner approached, he found an unknown man sitting inside his car — and quickly realized the suspect was trapped.

Car doors trapped the suspect inside
According to the Township of Hamilton Police Department, officers arrived to find Jeison Henriquez Sanchez still inside the vehicle. What might have been a typical burglary investigation took an unexpected turn when it became clear Sanchez couldn’t escape because the car’s doors only opened from the outside.
Officers opened the door and took Sanchez into custody at the scene.
Suspect charged and jailed on unrelated warrants
Police said Sanchez was charged with burglary and transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where he was also held on unrelated charges.
Authorities did not report any property stolen or damage to the vehicle. The unusual incident remains under investigation.
