Jackson Crash that Shut Down Road for Days, Power Outages Involved Alcohol and a Harassing Digital Ad Truck

JACKSON, NJ—In August, a digital advertising truck registered in Pennsylvania was in Jackson for one reason and one reason only: to harass a local Jackson business owner at his home because of a beef he was having with a local union, according to witnesses who observed the truck earlier.

That union allegedly hired Mobile Media Leasing, of West Norriton, Pennsylvania, to have a digital billboard truck drive around Jackson, harassing and doxxing the business owner.

What the customer wasn’t expecting was that the vehicle would crash into a telephone pole, causing a fire, long-term power outages, and a nearly three-day road closure of East Veterans Highway.

A police report from the Jackson Township Police Department reveals more to the story. The driver of the digital marketing van, Gregory Michael, of Philadelphia, was found with empty bottles of liquor when police arrived. Police say Michaels was traveling westbound on East Veterans Highway when he veered over the center lane, skidded out, and crashed into a telephone pole.

Police said the crash caused “catastrophic damage” in their report. Police also found a half-empty pint-size bottle of liquor, an empty airport bottle of liquor, and an open 16-ounce can of light beer in the cab.

Sgt. Jeff Henba noted a strong odor of alcohol and reported that the driver’s eyes were bloodshot and exhibited ‘droopy eyelids’.

Michael was transported to Jackson Liberty and airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center after a tourniquet was placed on one of his legs at the scene.

The crash caused a nearly 24-hour power outage in the area, and East Veterans Highway was closed for nearly three days as crews repaired the damage to utility poles and a fire hydrant. After striking a utility pole, that pole was tossed further, striking another, causing a fire.

In the end, the truck sent by the customer of the business to harass a local Jackson resident ended up backfiring on the client.

According to police, the truck was registered to Mobile Media Leasing, LLC, operating out of a townhome on Rockwood Drive in West Norriton. According to Pennsylvania state records, that LLC is based out of a home on Clark Hill Drive in Eagleville, Pennsylvania.

That business was tracked down to The TV Truck, a mobile vehicle advertising company. We called the business today, but the owner was unavailable for comment.
