Jackson, NJ – Mayor Mike Reina is inviting residents to line the streets in support of America’s heroes at the 17th Annual Wounded Warrior Escort on Saturday, October 11.
The event, hosted by the Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club, will begin at 9 a.m. at the Jackson Justice Complex, where veterans will gather before departing in a ceremonial motorcade at 9:30 a.m. Led by the Jackson Township Police Department, volunteer fire companies, the First Aid Squad, motorcycle groups, and community volunteers, the escort will make its way along West Veterans Highway and South Stump Tavern Road.
The procession honors veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan as well as those who served in Vietnam, Korea, and World War II. Mayor Reina, who has led the event since taking office in 2008, emphasized the importance of showing gratitude to wounded warriors who live with permanent injuries.
“The freedoms we enjoy as Americans were secured through great sacrifice,” Reina said. “Your presence—just a few minutes of your time—can make a lasting impact on their hearts.”
Residents and community groups are encouraged to safely park along the route, wave flags, and create a patriotic atmosphere for the arriving veterans.
