Police say the attacker threatened a 28-year-old man before fleeing toward nearby woods
DOVER, DE – A masked man armed with a knife sexually assaulted a 28-year-old man at a Dover construction site Tuesday morning before fleeing toward a wooded area, according to Delaware State Police, who searched the surrounding area but did not locate the suspect.
The attack occurred at a construction site on Lacey Lane in the Nobles Pond community.
Troopers were dispatched to the site at approximately 9:50 a.m. Tuesday following a report of a sexual assault.
Victim threatened with knife
Investigators learned that the assault occurred earlier, at approximately 8 a.m.
Police said an unknown masked man approached the 28-year-old victim at the construction site and threatened him with a knife.
The assailant then sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing toward a wooded area near Pearsons Corner Road and Seven Hickories Road, according to state police.
Troopers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.
Masked suspect remains sought
Delaware State Police described the suspect as a white man who was last seen wearing a black mask, black shirt, tan or khaki pants and gloves.
Police said he was armed with a knife.
No additional identifying information about the suspect was provided.
The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit is handling the investigation.
