Knife-wielding thief sought after early-morning robbery in the Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. – The NYPD is searching for a suspect who allegedly pulled a knife during a robbery inside a Bronx building early Thursday morning following an argument over money.

According to police, the incident occurred around 5:40 a.m. on February 5 at 260 Brook Avenue, within the 40th Precinct. Investigators say a 21-year-old man became involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified male over currency when the suspect suddenly snatched the victim’s cellphone.

When the victim tried to retrieve the phone, the suspect reportedly displayed a knife, prompting the victim to back away. The assailant then fled the scene on foot toward an unknown location.

No injuries were reported, and detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the area in hopes of identifying the suspect.
