Bronx man beaten and robbed of $300 in early-morning street attack

BRONX, N.Y. – The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects wanted in connection with a violent street robbery that left a 38-year-old man injured early Monday morning in the University Heights section of the Bronx.

Police said the incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on February 9 near Davidson Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road, within the 52nd Precinct. According to investigators, two unidentified suspects approached the victim, punched him several times, and threw him to the ground. While the victim was down, one of the assailants kicked him and forcibly removed approximately $300 from his pants pocket.

Both suspects fled the scene westbound on West Kingsbridge Road. The victim sustained bruises but refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and canvassing the area for witnesses. The NYPD released an appeal through Crime Stoppers, urging anyone with information about the attackers to come forward.
