Lakewood’s coordinated effort aims to ensure residents can observe Passover traditions safely across nine designated burn sites.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — Lakewood Township has designated nine official locations for residents to conduct Chometz burning on Friday, April 11, between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., with local departments coordinating to ensure fire safety and public compliance.

Key Points

  • Chometz burning will occur at nine designated sites in Lakewood on April 11 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Residents are required to follow safety protocols, including child supervision and fire-safe materials
  • Non-burnable items must be disposed of in provided dumpsters at each site

The burning sites include locations across the township, from local parks and sports complexes to community and religious centers.
