Lancaster City Man Sentenced to 8-16 Years for Relationship with Minor Under His Care

Lancaster, PA – A Lancaster city man has been sentenced to 8 to 16 years in prison for engaging in a sexual relationship with a minor under his care.

Daymarr Jackson, 29, of the 500 block of S. Lime Street, was sentenced last Wednesday by Lancaster County Judge Dennis Reinaker. Jackson pleaded guilty in April to multiple charges, including three counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16, unlawful contact with a minor, sexual contact with a minor, three counts of sexual assault, incest of a minor, photographing/filming/depicting a sex act on a computer, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, sexual abuse of children, and criminal use of a communication facility.

Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick noted that the case was distinguished from typical statutory sexual assault cases due to the familial relationship between Jackson and the victim, as Jackson was the victim’s legal guardian. Haverstick highlighted the victim’s diary entries, which detailed how Jackson pursued her and manipulated her by expressing his love and desire.

The Lancaster City Bureau of Police responded to a report of a sex offense at Jackson’s residence on S. Lime Street on July 4, 2023. Investigators found digital images of Jackson engaged in sexual acts with the victim, who later disclosed during an interview that the abuse occurred between the ages of 15 and 17. The acts began in Leola and continued at the S. Lime Street residence. Jackson had also taken photos and videos of the sexual acts and solicited sexually explicit material from the victim.

Lancaster City Bureau of Police Detective Karson Arnold filed the charges against Jackson.
