TRENTON, N.J. — A light snowfall is expected to move into New Jersey this afternoon, with flakes beginning as early as 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. The forecast predicts cloudy skies and a high temperature near 37 degrees, with a west wind of around 10 mph.
The chance of snow this afternoon stands at 30%, with total daytime accumulation projected to remain below one inch. Snowfall could linger into the evening hours before tapering off by 10 p.m. Clearing skies and a low near 23 degrees are expected overnight, accompanied by northwest winds of 5 to 15 mph.
“New snow accumulation of less than half an inch is possible tonight,” the National Weather Service stated in its latest update.
The weather is anticipated to improve on Saturday, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 35 degrees. However, brisk west winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph, will make for chilly conditions throughout the day.
Sunday’s forecast indicates continued sunshine, with a high of 34 degrees and lighter west winds around 10 to 15 mph. Another chance of snow may develop late Sunday night into early Monday, with a 30% chance of precipitation after 1 a.m.
