Local Wegmans grocery run turns into $1.45M payday in NJ

Single ticket lands $1.45M jackpot in Middlesex County lottery win

Woodbridge, NJ — A New Jersey Lottery player is holding a $1,459,039 jackpot-winning ticket after matching all five numbers in the latest Jersey Cash 5 drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at Wegmans Food Market, located at 15 Woodbridge Center Drive in Woodbridge, according to lottery officials.

The winning numbers for the April 17 drawing were 04, 09, 13, 24, and 45, with a Bullseye number of 24 and an XTRA multiplier of 02.

The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.

In addition to the top prize, 63 players matched four out of five numbers along with the Bullseye to win $500 each. Sixteen of those players doubled their winnings to $1,000 by adding the XTRA feature.

Officials said the jackpot had grown higher than usual due to a promotional increase, resetting to $300,000 instead of the standard $150,000 following the win.

The identity of the winner has not been released.
