MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police in Gloucester County are trying to reunite a lost pit bull with its owner after the dog was found wandering near Tuckahoe Road by Crosskeys.

The Monroe Township Police Department said the dog, described as a friendly pit bull, was brought to the department after being found with a black collar and a grey braided leash. Officers shared the alert on social media Friday morning.

“This friendly pit enjoyed his visit at the PD but can’t stay,” the department stated in a Facebook post.

The dog is currently safe at the station, but officials are urging anyone with information about the owner to contact police dispatch at 856-728-0800.
