Wilkes-Barre man arrested after allegedly strangling woman during domestic dispute
WILKES-BARRE, PA – A 31-year-old man is in custody after police say he assaulted and strangled a 24-year-old woman during a violent domestic altercation on West Ross Street Monday evening.
Officers responded around 6:13 p.m. to a reported domestic dispute at a residence, where they spoke with the victim. According to police, the woman reported that during a verbal argument, Lee Tucker struck her multiple times with a closed fist, forced her to the ground, and placed his hands around her neck, restricting her ability to breathe.
Following the alleged assault, Tucker fled the scene before officers arrived.
Police later secured an arrest warrant and tracked the suspect to a residence on Pine Street. When officers attempted to take him into custody, Tucker allegedly tried to escape through a rear exit but was stopped and apprehended on site.
He was transported to City Headquarters for processing and arraignment on multiple charges related to the incident.
