Man follows woman across state lines then sneaks into vehicle

Man accused of stalking woman across states arrested after hiding in her car at Delaware hospital

Middletown, DE — A man who allegedly followed a woman across state lines was arrested after police say he hid inside her car while she was receiving treatment at a hospital.

The incident unfolded April 23 at ChristianaCare Middletown Emergency Department, where officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. Hospital staff had observed the individual on surveillance video entering and sitting in the back seat of a female patient’s vehicle.

Officers identified the suspect as 22-year-old Prince Onukogu of Piscataway, New Jersey.

Investigators determined Onukogu allegedly followed the woman, who was unknown to him, from New Jersey and recorded her at multiple locations without her knowledge. Police said he then followed her to the hospital, entered her vehicle, and concealed himself while she was inside.

Onukogu was taken into custody without incident and charged with third-degree burglary and stalking.

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and issued $5,000 cash bail. Unable to post bail, he was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
