CHESAPEAKE, VA – A man was killed early Friday after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Clearfield Drive and Discovery Drive.

The crash happened just after midnight, according to Chesapeake Police.

The victim was taken to a local hospital but later died despite emergency efforts.

Officers arrived at the scene shortly after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Emergency responders from the Chesapeake Fire Department joined officers in providing medical care before the man was transported for further treatment. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name pending family notification.
