Akron, OH – A man allegedly shot and stabbed his girlfriend, Rebecca Guthrie, leading to her death on Saturday morning. Gregory Tillman, 38, is charged with murder, assault, domestic violence, and other crimes related to the incident.
Guthrie, 44, was at home with her two sons when an argument escalated. Her 18-year-old son, Marquis Terrell, reported hearing gunshots and yelling.
Around 2:10 a.m., police arrived to find Guthrie with multiple stab wounds and a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead shortly after at a local hospital.
Tillman was located down the street and taken into custody. The injured son sustained a head injury and is recovering in the hospital.
