Man Randomly Attacked on NYC Subway Platform

NEW YORK — A 52-year-old man was assaulted early Tuesday morning on the northbound “6” train platform at the 96th Street station, police said. The incident occurred at approximately 3:28 a.m. on August 20.

The victim was standing on the platform when an unidentified individual approached and struck him with an unknown object, resulting in a laceration to the right side of his neck. The assailant then fled the scene, exiting the train station to an unknown location.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and is reported to be in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a green shirt and red sweatpants.

The New York City Police Department is investigating the incident and is asking anyone with information to contact them.
