Man shot in Brooklyn as police search for gunman

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Police are searching for a suspect who opened fire on a 27-year-old man at a Brooklyn intersection Wednesday night, striking the victim in the leg before fleeing the scene.

Authorities said the shooting occurred around 9:54 p.m. on January 28 near Sackett Street and Third Avenue. According to investigators, the victim was approached by an unidentified man who initiated a brief conversation before pulling out a firearm and discharging it. The bullet struck the victim in the right leg.

The wounded man was taken to a local hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. Detectives from the 78th Precinct are leading the investigation and working to identify the shooter, who remains at large.
