Man shot in car during violent mugging incident in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A man was shot and two others were threatened during a robbery spree in Flatbush early Tuesday morning, according to police.

At approximately 4:10 a.m., a 44-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle in front of 2816 Church Avenue when he was approached by an unidentified individual who demanded his property, police said. A struggle followed, during which the suspect displayed a firearm and shot the man in the left leg.

The victim was transported by private means to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County, where he was listed in stable condition.

Following the shooting, the suspect fled on foot and confronted a 32-year-old man in front of 2705 Church Avenue. Police said the suspect threatened the second victim and forcibly removed $20 before fleeing again on foot.

Minutes later, the same suspect approached a 24-year-old woman who was parked in her vehicle in front of 104 Martense Street, brandished a firearm, and demanded money, authorities said.

Suspect remains at large

The suspect was unsuccessful in obtaining any property from the third victim and fled westbound on Martense Street. Both the second and third victims declined medical attention and were not injured.

Police have not released a description of the suspect and no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact police.
