Man shot dead on East Lanvale Street in Baltimore’s Eastern District

Baltimore, MD — A man was killed Tuesday evening after multiple gunshots rang out in East Baltimore, prompting a homicide investigation now underway by city detectives.

At approximately 5:56 p.m., officers from the Eastern District responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1500 block of East Lanvale Street. When they arrived, they found an unidentified adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

Medics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. His identity has not been released pending next-of-kin notification.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. No suspects or motive have been announced as of Tuesday night, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
