Afternoon attack leads to attempted homicide charge hours later
HARRISBURG, PA – A man was stabbed twice in the back and torso at a Harrisburg apartment complex Monday afternoon, sending him to a hospital before witness interviews led police to an 18-year-old suspect who was arrested later that evening on an attempted homicide charge.
Jesus Guevara-Gonzalez, 18, was arrested in connection with the stabbing at Harrisburg Park Apartments, according to the Harrisburg Bureau of Police.
Officers were dispatched to the apartment complex at approximately 3:15 p.m. Monday following a report of a stabbing.
Police arrived and found a victim suffering from two stab wounds to the back and torso area.
The injured man was transported to a local hospital for additional medical treatment.
Police did not release information concerning his condition Tuesday or identify him in the arrest announcement.
Investigators began interviewing witnesses while examining the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
Those interviews led police to identify Guevara-Gonzalez in connection with the incident, according to the department.
He was arrested later Monday evening.
Guevara-Gonzalez has been charged with criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, possession of instruments of crime and theft by unlawful taking.
Police did not disclose what allegedly led to the confrontation or explain the theft charge in their announcement.
The department also did not provide information concerning whether Guevara-Gonzalez and the victim knew each other.
