A 52-year-old Manor Township man is headed to county court after a judge gave the green light to a chilling case involving rape at gunpoint. Jebar Omar King allegedly turned a woman’s life into a nightmare over several days in January, and now he’s facing the music.
Last week, Judge Joshua Keller ruled there’s enough evidence to send King’s case to the Court of Common Pleas. The charges? Rape, strangulation, terroristic threats, two counts of simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person. Police say it all went down at King’s home in the 100 block of Clearfield Court East, where he’s accused of beating the victim, choking her, and holding a handgun to her head.
According to the victim, King punched her, strangled her, and kept her pleading for her life for a grueling 45 minutes with the gun pressed to her skull. Then, she says, he forced her into sex—leaving her convinced she’d die if she didn’t comply. When cops got a look at her, they spotted scratches and bruises all over her body. King didn’t exactly help his case either—he admitted to police he beat her and pointed the gun at her head.
The whole mess came to light when the victim confided in a friend, who tipped off Manor Township police just after noon on January 11. She’d told her pal King would kill her if the cops showed up. Officers moved in anyway, and now King’s staring down serious time. For now, though, he’s out on the streets after posting $200,000 bail.
