Marietta drug dealer facing additional charge for illegal gun

Lancaster, PA — Jalen Germany, a 30-year-old Marietta resident and convicted felon, has been sentenced to 5 ½ to 11 years in prison by Lancaster County Judge Merrill Spahn. Germany’s sentencing, which took place last Friday, was for illegally possessing a firearm in 2021 and dealing various narcotics in Lancaster city in 2022.

Germany, of the first block of Kline Road, entered an open guilty plea to charges including illegal firearm possession, possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and crack cocaine, DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and four summary driving offenses.

On September 13, 2021, around 2:33 p.m., the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Germany at an apartment on the 600 block of North Queen Street. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department wanted him for possession with intent to deliver and by East Hempfield Township Police Department for possession of a controlled substance. Germany attempted to hide in a bathroom, where officers later found a fully loaded .25 caliber Browning handgun.

On March 30, 2022, around 2:06 a.m., a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper stopped Germany on Williamson Way for failing to maintain his lane. The vehicle’s registered owner had an outstanding warrant for shoplifting. During the stop, the Trooper detected a strong odor of marijuana and discovered Germany in possession of fentanyl, cocaine, Xanax pills, and marijuana.
