SUITLAND, MD — A Suitland man has been charged in the death of his girlfriend after her body was found wrapped in plastic and partially covered in concrete inside their shared apartment, Prince George’s County Police announced Monday.

Michael McClanahan, 38, of Suitland, faces charges of first- and second-degree murder in connection with the killing of 44-year-old Sherron Turner. Police discovered Turner’s body during a welfare check on April 24, 2025, at the couple’s home in the 2300 block of Ewing Avenue.

According to police, officers found Turner deceased inside the apartment. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined on April 26 that Turner died from blunt force trauma, ruling her death a homicide.

Following the autopsy and subsequent investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for McClanahan. He had already been arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC, on April 25 on unrelated charges.
